Fitzroy Gardens is not only valued for their aesthetic, architectural and historic significance, but also for their unique setting and many attractions.
At the Fitzroy Gardens, there is plenty to see and do. Some of the most notable attractions at these gardens include Cooks Cottage, the Conservatory, the Carved Fairy’s tree, Sinclair’s cottage, English Elm avenue, model Tudor Village, ornamental follies and the Scarred tree.
Fitzroy Gardens, Cafe & Conservatory Parking Address & Map
When it comes to the horticultural significance, the Fitzroy Gardens feature Elm-tree lined pathways, a variety of native and exotic flora and flowering plants. Spending a few hours at these gardens is highly recommended for all nature lovers. While most of the remains and sculptures are original, the Cooks Cottage is the only thing that came from outside of Australia.
The gardens and conservatory are maintained and restored from time to time. Therefore, even after so many years, the gardens are still in their original condition. Even at the Cooks Cottage, you will see original furnishings and items used by the early dwellers of the cottage.
Visitors who love history will also find something interesting here. Come and learn more about the glorious life of Captain Cook and his famous voyage at Cooks’ cottage.
May I know where to park at Fitzroy Gardens? What is the parking rate like?
Hi Jessie,
I have generated a parking map for you showing all of the on-street parking surrounding the Fitzroy Gardens – please find it on the page or the link here. Looking at what’s available, most parking spots seem to be in the realm of only 1-2 hours and at a rate of $4 an hour (it increased from $3.20 just 3 days ago)
If you need to move around at all and park in any other areas, the website i used to find these spots was from the Melbourne Council website.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Michael
Are there any picnic tables in the gardens?
Hi Lisa,
No, there are no picnic tables or BBQ’s in the gardens. Make sure to take your own picnic rug and portable chairs and table if you want to set up your own space inside Fitzroy Gardens.
Best regards,
Jess

G’day Trevor,
Yes there is disabled parking along Wellington and George Street as well as Spring Street.
Check out this map that the City of Melbourne has created. It shows disabled parking locations (Small blue “P”), gradients of the pathways as well as the locations of accessible toilets. Very handy!
Enjoy your time in Fitzroy Gardens!
Kind regards,
Jess
