The Victoria State Rose Garden is Australia’s largest and best-maintained public rose garden. Its shape resembles a Tudor Rose, and this huge parkland is home to a variety of roses and lush green lawns.
It also received the prestigious Garden Of Excellence Award from the WFR Societies.

The new entrance has a metal arch with its name inscribed. The gate also has a side panel that showcases a brief outline of the garden’s layout. This beautiful garden has even hosted many private events and wedding functions.
Make sure to stop by the Victoria State Rose Garden in November to participate in the Rose Garden Show held here each year. This is a free event where you can enjoy two days of live music, plant care demonstrations and guided tours of the gardens. There will also be fun activities for the kids and garden workshops running across the weekend.
It’s located right next door, so make sure you check out the popular Werribee Mansion and Werribee Open Range Zoo.
I’m interested in a grafting seminar for plants that I have heard you run there – could please provide a phone number to call and name as I’m wanting to buy as a gift for Christmas!
Regards
Jules

Is this place reachable via public transportation ? How this place can be reached from Melbourne CBD.
Hi Venkat,
Yes, you can get there by public transport. Catch a train from Melbourne on the Werribee Line and get off at Werribee Station. Then catch the number 439 bus, which takes you right up to the grounds of the gardens. The whole trip will take just over 1 hour.
Have a great time at the Rose Gardens!

Jess
When is the best time to see roses in bloom?
Hi Kate,
Autumn is the best time to see the roses in full bloom, however they are still blooming right now.
However, the roses will be less in bloom over the next month as the cold will cause the leaves to drop and inhibit flowering. Additionally they commence pruning on 8th June, but with over 5000 roses to prune it will take quite some time!
Regards,
Jess
