Sports Tour

Melbourne is famous for its sporting culture, with AFL, Cricket and Tennis taking centre stage.

Go on a sports tour around some of Melbourne’s iconic stadiums and museums including the MCG, Rod Laver Arena and Flemington Racecourse.

The MCG is located in Richmond, just 3 kilometres from the CBD and is the most popular sporting venue in Victoria. This world-class sports stadium hosts a number of international cricket matches, AFL games (notably the AFL Grand Final), as well as many other sporting events & concerts. In fact, this is the largest cricket stadium in the world.

Those taking a tour to the MCG will get taken around the ground with a knowledgeable guide who will show you the coaches box, media rooms, lockers and change rooms.

After your visit to the MCG, some tours take you to see Melbourne’s other iconic sporting locations including the home of the Melbourne Cup ( Flemington Racecourse), the athletes’ village of the Commonwealth Games and the F1 Grand Prix Circuit at Albert Park.

Other tours will take you through Rod Laver Arena, home to the world-famous Australian Open tennis tournament. Rod Laver Arena was purpose-built for tennis, as the previous stadium was no longer suitable to accommodate the large crowds. Rod Laver Arena is the crowned jewel of the Melbourne Park complex and on your tour, you will get a look behind the scenes whilst accompanied by a guide who will give you heaps of information about the history and uses of these buildings.
