A trip to Ballarat Wildlife Park offers you the most exciting experience with some of the country’s unique animals and a range of exotic reptiles.

Established in 1985, the family business has since grown to be one of the most popular travel destinations in country Victoria.

Home to native Australian animals, visiting the park means you get to see kangaroos roaming on the expansive grounds, koalas, wombats and the world-popular Tasmanian Devil. There is also a crocodile enclosure on the 16-hectare park for reptile lovers.

With an array of exciting activities at the park, there is never a dull moment at Ballarat Wildlife Park. Start with a guided tour at 11am to learn more about the different animal species as you walk around the park’s grounds. Look out for the animal shows that include the Dingo, Conservation and Tasmanian Devil presentations.

You cannot afford to miss out on the Reptile Presentation that features Crunch, the park’s five meters long super crocodile in exciting feeding shows.

You can also choose to have a unique animal encounter with a Dingo pup at 10.45am and 2.45pm; Koala 11.30am and 1.30pm; Dingo at 12.15pm; Giant Tortoise at 1.15pm; Snake at 2.30pm; and Wombat at 3.00pm. Bookings must be made when entering the park to secure a place as there are limited places available.

Some of the amenities provided at the park include a cafe where you can grab lunch, a picnic area for a relaxed family outing and there is also a souvenir gift shop.

Ballarat Wildlife Park is located at the corner of York and Fussell Streets in Ballarat East. Take a train from Southern Cross to Ballarat Train Station and then take a cab to the park. You can also take a bus from Southern Cross Coach to Ballarat, or drive on National Highway M8 from Melbourne.
