The Fairy Park at Anakie is a great place to take your kids for a fun day of fairytales and adventure. The park is located just one hour west from Melbourne.
There are three main areas inside the park including Fairytale Land, Camelot Playground and the Elephant Rock Picnic Grounds. Each offers something unique for your children to enjoy.

Camelot Playground is where kids can pretend to be a knight or medieval princess as they run through tunnels, dungeons and mazes. There are a carousel ride and giant slide which they can also enjoy.
The Elephant Rock Picnic Grounds is where you can sit and relax as the kids run and play whilst you enjoy a quiet lunch in the outdoors. There are 9 BBQ plates available for use and the cost is $1 for 8 minutes of cooking time. So make sure to bring some gold coins. There is also covered tables and seating located here. If you decide not to bring your own food, there is a cafe where you can purchase hot food and cold drinks on weekends and during school holidays.
Make sure to also check out the train museum inside the castle which has a huge model train set. You should allow for 2-3 hours to fully enjoy the park. Dogs are permitted in the park but must remain leashed at all times. There is free parking on site and the park is pram and wheelchair accessible, although there are some hilly parts which may be challenging to navigate.
So come on over to the Fairy Park at Anakie and have a great day out with your family and friends!
is it possible to use public transport to Fairy Park …is it near a train station with a connecting bus service? We plan to visit in between 4-9th Oct
Hi Colleen,
Sadly, there is no public transport direct to Anakie. The closest railway station is Lara, on the Melbourne–Geelong line. A taxi can be taken from there for the 20minute ride. Taxi contacts: Geelong Taxi Network for more information on 13 1008.
If you are able to arrange to drive, here is a link to the directions.
Best regards,
Jess
