Hellenic Museum

The Hellenic Museum is located in one of Australia’s most prominent buildings, the Former Royal Mint, and is home to numerous exhibitions and programs.

The museum is known for its exhibitions and projects, all of which enhance an understanding of how Greek culture has evolved over the years to incorporate contemporary advancements.

The treasures on display have been sourced from the Benaki Museum in Athens, the home of Greek culture. Presently, the museum has a series of exhibitions held with the aim of examining the extent of Greek cultural practices in Australia as well as the lifestyle that Greek settlers lead in the country. The Summer Arts Program at the Hellenic Museum is also an insightful activity run by the facility.

To access the museum, enter from William Street. Public transport is available by tram (alighting at Flagstaff Gardens Stop), by train (alight at Flagstaff Station) or by car, as there is car parking right next to the museum. The museum also has disability access.
