Often abbreviated NMRC, the recreation centre offers a gymnasium, multi purpose stadium, seasonal outdoor pools, meeting rooms, community space and theatrette.
North Melbourne Recreation Centre Swimming Pool, Entry Price & Parking
Swimming is one of the most popular activities enjoyed here and its not hard to see why. There are a number of pools available for use including 25 metre heated outdoor pool, a toddlers pool, wading pool and infant splash pool. Note that the outdoor pools are open during the summer months from October to April. There is plenty of shade around the pool areas making it a great place to avoid the heat in summer.
There are also BBQ facilities on site as well as a fully stocked cafe. Lockers are available for hire and there are clean toilets and change rooms available.
You can get to the North Melbourne Recreation Centre by train or tram. By train, catch the Upfield Line and get of at Macaulay Station. For the tram, catch the #57 tram and alight at Haines Street (stop 16). If driving, there is also metered street parking around the venue.
