Werribee Racecourse

Werribee Racecourse is a popular horse racing venue that is located in the residential suburb of Cranbourne, 32kms south-west of Melbourne.

Werribee Racecourse is one of the most popular destinations for race-goers in Melbourne and is often the home of many famous horses when in stable during the world famous Spring Racing Carnival held in October and November each year.

You are welcome to bring a picnic to any of the race meets, however personal BBQ’s are not permitted. Alternatively you could enjoy a tasty meal at any of the foot stalls located at the track. BYO alcohol is not permitted, however you can purchase alcohol from the track. There are TAB and bookie services located at the track and there are also ATMS and EFTPOS facilities available.

If attending a race, the gates will typically open 90 minutes prior to the first race. A neat casual dress code is encouraged with no thongs or ripped clothing. For premier race days, the skies the limit with how formal you wish to dress as spring fashion is one of the fun parts of going to the races.

You can get to the course via car as there is parking on site, or via public transport. Trains run frequently from the Melbourne CBD via the Werribee line to Werribee station which is approximately 3kms from the course.
