Below the Belt Pedalthon Melbourne

We’re delighted to welcome the Melbourne Pedalthon back to Sandown Racecourse. It’s ready for you to ride and help those living with cancers below the belt (kidney, bladder, testicular, penile, and prostate).

Whether you’re an avid cyclist, new to the sport, or just looking for a challenge, you are invited to ride to fight cancer below the belt.

The Pedalthon promises to be a unique event for networking with the community, promoting teamwork, healthy competition, and fun.

Whether you’re a cycling enthusiast, looking for a fitness challenge, or simply a bunch of mates looking to jump on a bike and have some fun, you’ll love the Below the Belt Pedalthon. Individual riders and teams of up to 4 riders will be challenged to ride as many laps as possible in 3 hours, with fun challenges throughout the day.

ANZUP aims to raise $100k through donations and sponsorships for practice-changing multidisciplinary collaborative clinical trials and to make a difference in the lives of all those impacted by cancers below the belt.

Every cent raised by the Melbourne Pedalthon event goes directly towards clinical trials research, which means straight into the hands of experts committed to improving treatments and outcomes for those living with below-the-belt cancers – testicular, penile, prostate, bladder, and kidney.

In 2015, ANZUP set up the Below the Belt Research Fund, as a direct result of the Pedalthon, to help clinicians kick-start new trial ideas. To date, seed funding has been awarded to 36 ANZUP members to help gather the evidence needed to develop full-scale clinical research studies.

These funding opportunities wouldn’t be available without the Pedalthon.
