  • I am trying to organise a hens party for late this year and am hoping to go to Oktoberfest… I cannot find any information online about when it is and was hoping you might be able to help me out!

Hope to hear back from you soon!

    • Hi J,

There a number of events scheduled for Oktoberfest all over different dates, so you will be able to choose which best suits you. There isn’t just one big event that covers all locations, so you will need to shop around.

In previous years, there have been large Oktoberfest gatherings at the Melbourne Showgrounds in Ascot Vale as well as a large event held at the Royal Exhibition Building. There are also celebrations at the Cuckoo Restaurant in the Dandenong Ranges and there used to be a big garden festival along Birrarung Marr, however I don’t know if the City of Melbourne are running that anymore.

As for dates, unfortunately nothing has been announced (that I am aware of). I suggest you keep an eye on announcements from the Showgrounds (tickets sold by Moshtix last year) and the Royal Exhibition building by checking their websites directly. Those are the two big locations for parties.

      Best regards,
      Jess

    • Hi Shaun,

Dates are Saturday October 14th, although I am fairly sure tickets have sold out. There is a second event at the Melbourne Showgrounds known as “Oktoberfest in the Gardens” which is scheduled for the same date – 14 October.

      Best regards,
      Jess

    • Hi Ben,

The dates for the St Kilda and Geelong events have been released:
      St Kilda Foreshore – 14 & 15 October 2017
      Geelong – 28 October 2017

The Birrarung Marr event dates are yet to be confirmed. Typically it has been held around the 3rd week of October, but check back with us as I will update our page once the event information is confirmed.

      Kind regards,
      Jess

  • Is there a current event for Oktoberfest in the Gardens for 2016? Me and my partner missed out on tickets last year and were very upset. We would love to attend this year’s event if there is one happening. If there is, could you direct me to where I can purchase tickets from? Please and thankyou in advance! Thanks

    • Hi Sarah,

Yes, there will be a 2016 Oktoberfest in Melbourne, however details are scarce at the moment.

In previous years a company called “Moshtix” sold tickets for the Melbourne event, so keep an eye on their page to see when tickets are up for sale. So far, they are still referring to the 2015 event.

      Enjoy Oktoberfest 2016!
