Whether you’re a Muggle, a Marshmallow, an Earper, a Jedi or a Whovian, as long as you love popular culture and enjoy a fun day out, they have something for you!

Oz Comic-Con Melbourne 2025 Dates, Guests, Ticket Prices, Times

Oz Comic-Con is a series of annual events across the east coast of Australia, showcasing the best of entertainment and pop culture, including exhibitors, studio activations, celebrity guests, comics district, anime screenings, guest and community panels, and gaming.

Oz Comic-Con truly connects fans with their pop passions and fosters bonds and lifetime friendships across pop culture fandoms in Australia.

Tickets go on sale about 2-3 months before each event. We suggest you buy tickets online before the show, as ticket prices increase on site. Also, on-site ticket sales do not begin until half an hour after the doors open each show day.

In addition to your general admission ticket, you’ll need to purchase a token to get a photograph or autograph from our celebrity guests. All tokens will be available to purchase online at least 2 weeks before the event until quantities are sold out.

You can dress up as whatever character you like at Oz Comic Con, as long as it doesn’t break any of our prop policies and is suitable for a family-friendly event.

On the Oz comic-con stage

Live performance
Are you a part of an idol dance group, pop culture or K-pop dance group, a solo or group performer? Would you like to showcase your talent on the stage of Oz Comic-Con? Look no further than the Music and Entertainment Stage, the perfect venue for live pop culture performances featuring dancing, singing, and maybe even a lip sync competition (or two)!

Lip Sync Battle
It’s time to LIP SYNC FOR YOUR….eternal bragging rights! Can’t sing but can absolutely nail the silent solo? Did you watch every season of RuPaul and want to live out your lip-syncing fantasies on stage? Do you miss Dubsmash? Then this is the competition for you!

We will be running daily Lip Sync Battles on our music and entertainment stage. Limited spots are available, so be sure to get your application in as soon as possible! You can enter as an individual or as a group!

If you’re interested in competing in the Lip Sync, 2024 applications are now closed. Please check back in early in the new year for 2025 applications!

Just Dance!
So You Think You Can Just Dance? This is your chance to find out!

Just Dance will be running all weekend at the Just Dance Stage. Come over and give it a go! Whether in a group or dancing solo, pick your song and bust your moves!

Join us Sunday afternoon for the ultimate Just Dance Competition, as groups of 4 battle it out until we name our ultimate Just Dance Champion! See our crew in the Just Dance area on Sunday to sign up for the competition rounds.

Australian championship of cosplay

The Oz Comic-Con Championships of Cosplay is the largest cosplay contest in Australia! Taking place from West Coast to East Coast, the top cosplayers from six states battle it out to be named their state’s Champion of Cosplay!

The Oz Comic-Con Championship of Cosplay is a celebration of pop culture that focuses on craftsmanship. It includes competitors from all over the country hoping to be crowned the State Champion of Cosplay. The event takes place at each Oz Comic-Con city’s main stage and includes a pre-judging session with all competitors earlier in the day of the competition.

The Oz Comic-Con Championships of Cosplay will be held at each Oz Comic-Con event in 2025 (Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane & Sydney). All entries must represent a character or element from pop culture including comic books, movies, television, video games, anime & manga, and fantasy.

The State winners of the Championships of Cosplay will receive a cash prize of $1500, amongst other things!

Join us for what is sure to be a fun-filled competition celebrating the talent, skill and determination of the best Cosplayers in Australia!

Cosplayer Spotlight

Do you make and build your own cosplays? Want to experience what it’s like to table at an Oz Comic-Con event as a cosplay guest, but are you still working to build yourself up to the guest level?

Do you offer cosplay products, services, or commissions that don’t fit the mold or criteria of Artist Alley?

Then we’ve created the cosplayer spotlight just for you! It offers you experience tabling at an event, a small taste of the guest experience and responsibilities. It will allow you to promote yourself to our amazing cosplay community at the show.

Community Space

Welcome to the Oz Comic-Con CommUnity Space. A safe and inclusive haven for members and allies of the LGBTQIA+ community at the show.

We aim to create an environment where everyone can feel comfortable and accepted while celebrating what they love at Oz Comic-Con.

The CommUnity Space is designed to be a place where attendees can come together to socialize, and celebrate their love for all things queer pop culture. We provide a welcoming atmosphere where you can engage in activities, discussions and meetups that centre around queer representation and diversity in pop culture.

Our team comprises individuals who identify as members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies. Oz Comic-Con look forward to providing a safe, inclusive space for all.

Cozplay Competition
The Cozplay Competition is a competition for mainstream competitors. This event is perfect for you to showcase your crafting, needlework, or armour build talents. Entry is by application only with limited spots available, so don’t wait!

Prop Competition
Love your cosplay props? Awesome! The cosplay prop competition is the event where you can put your prop-making skills on display. You can enter this event solo or as part of a team (2 people max) into this awesome event and have the opportunity to win some awesome prizes!

Cosplay Parades
The Cosplay Parade is a great event showcasing the talent of cosplayers at Oz Comic-Con! It allows everyone to get up on stage and strut their stuff, no matter their skill level. The parade is for cosplayers who want to show off their cosplay and have fun!

You can enter as an individual or as a group, and both handmade and store-bought costumes are eligible to participate. This event is a great way to build confidence for those wishing to enter competitions in the future!

Kids Cosplay Parade
The kids cosplay parade is an excellent way for our littlest cosplayers to enter the cosplay spirit! Kids can go on stage either on their own, in a group or with a guardian for those who are either too little or too shy. Come and see the tiniest and cutest cosplayers all at one event!

Kids can enter this as either an individual or as a group, and both handmade and store-bought costumes are eligible to participate. The Kids Cosplay Parade is open to all participants ages 0 – 12, inclusive!

Trading Post

If you’re a part of a collectible community, and trading is a part of that, welcome to the Oz Comic-Con Trading Post! A space where collectors can meet and trade with each other, or even just talk about common interests and show off collections!

The District

The District is the activity melding pot. It’s a great place to check out if you want to browse or take part in our drawing competition, have a draw on the scribble wall, learn some origami, take part in some papercrafts or take part in some of our interactive comic and illustrator guest workshops! The District will host our cosplay group meet ups throughout the weekend with its photo wall. There’s a little bit of something for everyone in The District.

Cosplay Meetups
If you’re dressed for the occasion, be sure to head on over to The District area and meet some like-minded fans in awesome cosplay! Take a group cosplay picture in front of our awesome photo wall to immortalise the occasion! If you would like to vote on the cosplay groups for your local meetup schedule, you can do that now; just scroll further down!

Photo Wall Backdrops
Start in The District and work around the show, snapping photos in front of our many incredible photo wall backdrops! From cityscapes, winter mountains complete with dragon and Japanese cherry blossom gardens, to post-apocalyptic wastelands, retro video games and fantasy unicorns, there’s a backdrop for every mood to snap the perfect moment of your incredible Oz Comic-Con weekend in front of while you’re at the show!

Scribble Wall
Our epic scribble wall returns to The District for 2021. For all you colouring addicts out there, it’s time for you to scratch that itch to leave your mark!

Interactive Illustrator Workshops
Be sure to check out the schedule of comic artists and illustrators for interactive workshop panels taking place in The District across the weekend! If you want to get an up close and personal tutorial from some of the best Australian illustrators in the business, this is your chance!

Official Drawing Competition
If you fancy yourself an artist, head to The District to participate in our official Drawing Competition. Entries are open all weekend until 3pm Sunday. You can draw in any medium you like, such as pencil, markers, etc. As long as it’s drawn on an official competition entry sheet at the show, you can enter! We will have drawing supplies available to use. There are several prizes to be won. There’s even a kids category for our littlest artists!

Colouring iN and papercrafts
If colouring in and papercrafts are more your speed, head over to The District to chill out, take part in some colouring sheets, or try your hand at the various papercrafts we have available.

Freeplay Gaming Zone

At home with a controller? Like Smash Brothers? How about a game of Rocket League? Join us at the AEL Freeplay Gaming Zone and play your favourite games (for free) all weekend!

Australian Esports League (AEL) joins forces with leading Australian pop culture convention, Oz Comic-Con!

They are bringing their free-play gaming zone and esports tournaments to each show!

AEL recognises the importance of building ‘Grassroots’ Esports, and Oz Comic-Con is the perfect platform to deliver Esports and gaming to a broader audience and connect with esports fans and players. This partnership will help expand and grow the current AEL programs and provide their partners with the opportunity to showcase the latest esports and gaming products, including monitors, headsets, and games.

AEL Gaming Tournaments

The Australian Esports League is excited to host a number of pick-up competitions and free-play gaming opportunities at Oz Comic-Con!

We welcome all attendees to come to the booth and sign up to play games like Super Smash Bro’s Ultimate, Rocket League, Mario Kart, Warzone, Halo: Infinite, Age of Empires IV and more! We will have Nintendo Switches out, thanks to partners AOC Monitors and RIG Gaming, plus Gaming PC’s thanks to Acer ANZ. Come and have a game with the AEL!

Just Dance

Tabletop Gaming

Not one for console games? No problem! We have a library of tabletop games to satisfy your needs.

Ticket to Ride, Pandemic, Catan. Heard of those? Maybe you like Zombie Dice, Small World or Red Dragon Inn? Well, this year, Oz Comic-Con is giving you access to all of these games and more! We’ll use our tabletop resources to bring you a two-day gaming extravaganza.

Get along to the Tabletop Gaming Zone, featuring a library of over 40 different games you can play.

Oz Comic-Con Comics Lounge

The Oz Comic-Con Comics Lounge, supported by Kings Comics, is a great spot to take a break from the busy show floor, pull up a beanbag, and read through our extensive comics and manga library.

Pick something new to try, flick through an old favourite, or discuss your favourite titles with other fans. Whatever you do, be sure to stop by and browse through Kings Comics once you’re done!

Also happening in the Comics Lounge will be a range of industry panels and discussions with some of Australia’s top comic artists, writers and publishers. Meet your favourite artists, chat with other fans, discuss your favourite titles, check out new titles on offer and learn more about comics.

Ever wanted to learn what goes into creating your very own comic? Would you like to learn from an industry professional? LOOK NO FURTHER! We’ve got a range of workshops in every city to cater to your creative desires for both kids and adults. Check back closer to the day to see the full schedule of events!

Getting There

Oz Comic-Con is held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) on the banks of the iconic Yarra River in South Wharf. The MCEC can be easily found via Convention Centre Place next to DFO and Hilton Melbourne South Wharf. You can also walk down the Exhibition Centre Concourse from the Clarendon Street entrance.

Car Parking
If you’re driving to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, there are five nearby car parks.

  1. Melbourne Exhibition Centre Parking
    1060 undercover parking spaces available, managed by Wilson Parking. Entrance and exit off Normanby Road. Open 24 hours, seven days a week.
  2. Siddeley Street Parking
    Open 24 hours, seven days a week.
  3. Freeway Parking
    This is a Wilson Parking car park, located at Munro Street under the Westgate Bridge. You can access this car park via Normanby Road and Munro Street.
  4. South Wharf Parking
    550 open air parking spaces available, managed by Wilson Parking. Entrance off Normanby Road. Open 24 hours, seven days a week.
  5. Montague Street Parking
    This is a Care car park located at Montague Street. You can access it via Munro Street, followed by Montague Street.

Drop Off
If you’re being dropped off at the Exhibition Centre, our Clarendon Street entrance is the closest entrance. Alternatively, Convention Centre Place at the DFO can also be used as a drop-off point.

By Train
Our closest station is Southern Cross. Once you exit the station, you can catch the 96, 109 or 12 tram routes and arrive at MCEC in just a few stops.

By Bus
From Monday to Friday, bus route 237 goes via Southern Cross Station to Lorimer Street, roughly a five-minute walk to MCEC.

By Tram
Tram routes 96 and 109 (Stop 124A Casino/MCEC) will both take you to our Clarendon Street entrance. Otherwise, tram routes 48 and 70 (Stop D5) take you to Flinders Street. From there, it’s just a short walk up Clarendon Street until you reach us.

By Taxi or Rideshare
If you’re heading to the Exhibition Centre, ask your driver to drop you off at MCEC’s Clarendon Street entrance.

We have two nearby taxi ranks – Crown, Clarendon Street and DFO, Convention Centre Place.
