The Sydney Road Street Party is a cultural festival and one of the largest street-based festivals in Melbourne.
Held as part of the Brunswick Music Festival, which runs for nine days, the Sydney Road Street Party is a one-day event during which 1km of Sydney Road is closed to traffic and opened to stalls, buskers, and pedestrians.
Sydney Road Street Party, 2025 Dates Stalls & Road Closures Brunswick
This annual event welcomes tens of thousands to enjoy live music, great food, roving performances, and a variety of stalls – celebrating the vibrant culture and diversity of Sydney Road and beyond.
Both the 2023 and 2024 events saw around 60,000 people attend the one-day event, a mix of locals and visitors—festival lovers, families, foodies, and so much more.
Sydney Road Street Party caused absolute scenes on social media in 2024 when multiple spontaneous dance parties erupted amongst the crowd during the day-long event. This year’s SRSP returns on Sunday, March 2, with music, performance, snacks and treats, spectacle and sun!
During the festival, you will find many food and drink stalls selling Australian, Turkish, Lebanese, Italian, and Vietnamese food, drinks, and sweets. There will also be craft stalls selling various goods and second-hand goods, including clothes and books.
There will also be many performances during the festival. Some stages are set up at intersections along Sydney Road, where bands, singers, and dancers will perform throughout the day. Buskers and street performers will also be stationed along Sydney Road, ensuring plenty of music and entertainment.
Patrons should note that this is an alcohol-free event; however, you are welcome to consume alcohol within the licenced bars and restaurants along Sydney Road. Dogs are also permitted as long as they remain leashed.
Attendees should also note that Sydney Road is closed from Victoria Street & Brunswick Road in Brunswick, so trams and cars will be diverted. Take a train on the Upfield Line from the Melbourne CBD and alight at the Jewell or Brunswick Stations.
So come down to the Sydney Road Street Party and celebrate cultural diversity in the cultural hub of Brunswick.

Quiet Space
The Brunswick Town Hall will be a dedicated, quiet space away from the hustle and bustle of the Street Party. There will be hangout spaces, comfortable seating, and children’s books and sensory toys available.
The Quiet Space is a relaxed space designed to accommodate children and adults experiencing sensory overload or anyone who needs to take a break to recharge. We ask that patrons using this space please be mindful of noise.
